the latest development in my life:

i'm in the process of trying to change rooms because my roommates are... not awesome.

hopefully this will happen on monday or tuesday of next week...
and in the meantime, i won't have to deal with it because i'll be in mexico city all weekend!

Here is a tip I learned in Europe: when you need to avoid people (in my case pesky pickpockets and vendors selling light-up Eiffel Towers, in your case psycho roommates), fake a tuberculosis cough. It'll stop people from talking to you, and if you make it really hacky and contageous-sounding you can get them to stay away from your stuff too. Good luck!

Anni,
It's exciting (and wistful) to read your blogs (edited as they may be!!). I'm so glad for your experience--what a privelege. I'm trying to imagine what kind of roommates YOU can't get along with but glad you have the sense to change what isn't working for you!! WHen you get he opportunity we'd love to print off a picture of you infront of a yellow house under a blue sky!!

Anni! Chica, it sounds like (other than your roommates, which sucks, and i'm glad you are getting a new room!) you are having a wonderful time exploring and soaking it all in, the sulfur smells, the sunlight, the español flying through the air! haha. hope Mexico City is amazing and things continue to go (relatively) well.

love,
Val

Anni,
I'm trying real hard not to be worried about you and the roommate thing. Keep us posted! Can't wait to hear about Mexico City--I keep thinking, "I wonder what Anni's doing now...?" There better be photos up soon! (although it's also fun to picture stuff based on your wonderful descriptions.) Everyone's comments to you are so great--an awful lot of people love you, dear! Soak it up!

ANNI, i went in to work on wednesday and looked for you at the desk forgetting you were gone. It made me sad to think that i will no longer get to talk to you after i get off. Or more importantly talk to you while i am still on the clock. I MISS YOU!!
